User Access and Verification of User Authenticity |
| To insure that online access is given only to account owners, you will need to enroll for Internet banking at any First Savings Bank branch before you can access your accounts online. When you enroll, you will receive a unique User ID and password, and our system will require you to change your password the first time you sign on. Your User ID and password will be required every time you log on to an online banking session. After three invalid sign-on attempts, our system will lock the user out, requiring you to contact the bank to receive a new password. |
Secure Data Transfer |
During an online banking session, all data transferred between the user and the server is encrypted using 128-bit SSL protocol. This is a code that can only be read by your web browser, using an electronic "key" that is transmitted to you when you sign on to a banking session. Signing on with your User ID and password activates the key, so you do not need to take any additional steps. Each key is unique, and your browser receives a new key with each session, which expires when you sign off from your online banking. You can verify that your data is secure by the unbroken key symbol or closed padlock symbol that appears at the bottom of your browser window when you sign on to our online banking. |
Network Security |
During an online banking session, all data transferred between the user and the server must pass through firewalls and routers. These are security checkpoints made up of hardware and software that only transmit data to and from authorized users for the sole purpose of completing online transactions and prohibit unauthorized or improper access. |
Traffic Monitoring |
For additional protection, we regularly monitor traffic visiting our web site, and any suspicious or potentially harmful traffic or requests will be investigated. |
Time Limits |
If your online banking session is left inactive for twenty minutes, our system will end the session. If you wish to resume processing transactions after that point, you will be prompted to reenter your User ID and password. |
Password Confidentiality |
Your password will never appear on your computer screen, or in any correspondence with the bank, and it is not kept on record at the bank after your initial sign-on. |
Online Messages |
As an added service to our customers, we allow the transmission of secure online messages between the user and the bank. This service is accessible only after you sign on. All messages sent using this service are transmitted using the same security measures that we use for the transmission of account data. The bank will not send sensitive or account related information via regular E-mail. |
